One of the most headache for people who are not very experienced in the processing of two-color plastic moulds is the shrinkage phenomenon that occurs during the processing of two-color plastic moulds. After the plastic products are injection molded and ejected, there will be pits on the surface of the products, especially the parts with uneven material thickness are very obvious, which is what we often call product shrinkage. So how to avoid the shrinkage of two-color plastic mold? The following is how to avoid shrinkage of plastic products introduced by the manufacturer.
Ways to avoid shrinkage of
two-color plastic mould.
I. Start from the mold. For example, you can improve the location of the glue mouth or increase the flow channel to let more glue flow into the cavity. Change the glue port so that the glue inlet is closer to the thicker part of the plastic, so that the thick glue position at the pressure retention effect is better.
II. From the two-color
plastic mold injection molding process to improve the shrinkage. For example, lengthen the holding time, adjust the mold temperature, adjust the injection pressure and time, and other injection parameters to improve the shrinkage situation.
III. After the plastic products are ejected, immediately put them into cold water to speed up the cooling of the injection products, which can alleviate the problem of shrinkage to a certain extent.
IV. Start from the product, change the product. For example, the reduction of rubber, shrinkage is mainly due to the uneven thickness of the product material leads to different cooling time of the product, and cooling faster thin material bit will pull the thick material bit at the plastic. Then it will cause the thick bit of material at the glue is not enough to form a pit. So we can reduce the thickness of the thick material to alleviate the problem of shrinkage of the two-color plastic mold.
