The grinding of the injection mold is a very important link, it can determine whether the appearance of the injection mold is exquisite, so today GonSon injection mold manufacturer's editor will give you a detailed introduction to the importance of injection mould and skills, the details are as follows.
1. the importance of grinding mold
Regular polishing of the injection mold ensures consistent stamping quality. Regular sharpening of
injection molds not only improves the service life of injection molds but also the service life of machine tools. The correct timing of sharpening must be mastered.
2. Specific characteristics of the injection mold require sharpening
For the sharpening of injection molds, there is no strict number of hammer blows to determine whether sharpening is required. It depends mainly on the sharpness of the blade. It is determined by three main factors.
(1) Check the rounding of the cutting edge. If the radius of the fillet reaches R0.1 mm (the maximum R-value should not exceed 0.25 mm), sharpening is required.
(2) Check the stamping quality. Are there any large burrs?
(3) Judge whether sharpening is needed according to the noise of the machine punching. If the same pair of injection mold makes a noise when punching, it means the punch is blunt and needs to be sharpened.
Note: The edge of the blade is rounded or the back of the blade is rough. Sharpening should also be considered.

3. Sharpening method
There are many ways to sharpen fast injection molds, which can be achieved with a special sharpener or on a surface grinder. The sharpening frequency of the punch and the lower die is usually 4:1. Please adjust the height of the mold after sharpening.
(1) Hazards of incorrect sharpening method: Incorrect sharpening will aggravate the rapid damage of the injection mold blade, resulting in a much lower number of hammer blows per sharpening.
(2) Benefits of correct sharpening method: Regular sharpening of the injection mold will keep the punching quality and accuracy stable. The blade of the injection mold is damaged slowly and has a longer service life.
4. Sharpening rules
The following factors should be considered when sharpening injection molds.
(1) In the case of R0.1-0.25 mm, the sharpness of the cutting edge rounding depends on the sharpness of the cutting edge.
(2) The surface of the grinding wheel should be cleaned.
(3) It is recommended to use loose coarse-grained grinding wheels Such as WA46KV
(4) The grinding volume (tool) should not exceed 0.013 mm at a time. excessive grinding will cause the injection mold surface to overheat, which is equivalent to the annealing treatment, and the injection mold will become soft, greatly reducing the life of the injection mold.
(5) Adequate coolant must be added when grinding.
(6) When grinding, the punch and lower die should be fixed firmly and use special fixtures.
(7) The grinding amount of the injection mold is constant. If it reaches this value, the punch will be scrapped. If continue to use, it is easy to damage the injection mold and machine.
(8) After sharpening, the edges should be treated with a sharpening stone to remove excessively sharp edges.
(9) After sharpening, clean. Demagnetize. Oiling.
